Timely Tip: AR and AP Balances Offset 
|
As we all know there are many terrific features in ALERE. Many times I receive calls from clients that utilize some of these features only occasionally and therefore forget the easy and simple methods of accomplishing a task. One of these tasks is the ability to offset a receivable or a debit memo against a payable or credit memo. This can be done on the AR/Cash Receipts screen by selecting "the include unapproved payables" at the bottom of the screen. This option allows the payables and debit memos to be listed on the same screen as receivables and credit memos which posts the "payables to" against the receivables. This a straightforward visual that makes this complex task very easy. The general ledger transaction is automatically made which allows for a complete audit trail. |

The ALERE Accounting version 6.6 will be released in a couple weeks. Here is a preview of a couple of new features....All the browsers now have a "Print" button that will automatically compose a report of the records shown and send it to the printer.
General Ledger Journal Entries can now be loaded from a CSV or an Excel file.
A new "Contacts" tab has been added to the Companies screen. This will allow multiple contacts to be associated with one or more company locations.

How often have you been at home and needed to log into your computer at the office, especially this winter with all of the snow? Well, I may have the solution and just what you've been looking for!
Recently I was introduced to a program called Log Me In. It's a simple, secure, and inexpensive way to access your computer literally from anywhere. After the initial set up, you gain access to your computer as long as the computer is turned on.
